For Sale: 1965 Chevy C10

Introduction

I personally have never been the biggest pickup truck guy, but I make a few exceptions. However, I don't make exceptions for certain companies or brands but rather for specific pickup trucks that really catch my eye. Now, as you may have observed, this is one of those occasions where a pickup truck has caught my eye. I was scrolling through the Bring a Trailer website earlier when I spotted a 1965 Chevy C10 pickup truck and I immediately knew that I wanted to show you guys this truck. So, let's talk about this truck and what's so cool about it!

The Truck

The truck itself is a 1965 Chevy and it is a C10 model. A little bit of history on the C10, production for these vehicles started in 1960 and ran till 1966. This was the first model of the C line of pick up trucks to be made by Chevy. They were the small sized trucks mainly aimed for general consumer use on farms and ranches. This truck was released at the same time that Chevy released their line of medium sized and large sized trucks as well. The truck was supposed to have a cool and somewhat futuristic looking design, which it did, so let's talk about that.

I personally really like the design of this truck. I think that this is an extremely timeless design that looks just as good today as it did almost 60 years ago. The truck is a single cab truck, and the specific one that I am looking at is a beige color. Starting at the front, it almost seems as though the truck is made of two parts resting on top of each other. The bottom part has a rectangular grill that is bookended by two square headlights. This sounds pretty normal and, it is. What is different though is the top section that first slopes inward and then back out to create an overarching feature of the top hood. This feature is smooth and seamless except for the turning signals that are placed on either side of the top part. This indentation created by the sloping motions is carried all the way around the truck and back to the end of the bed. the bed is nice but simple.

The interior of this car is not super luxurious but it has everything you need. It has a radio, all the dials you could want, and of course, it has a good old bench seat. Personally, I would buy this pickup truck just for the bench seat, but that's not the only cool think about the interior on this truck. The truck has been redone and refurbished, and the inside has as well. While it can be difficult to find good models for this truck for sale, this is a perfect model in mint condition so everything in the interior doesn't just look pretty but also works! Now, let's talk about what this truck has going on under that space age hood its got.

The Specifications

The original C10 pickup trucks came with a Chevy V8 that created up to 220hp, which meant that the 1965 models could be equipped with air conditioning. However, you could still get the previous models 140hp straight-six with the 1965 models. This truck however has been refurbished and to some degree, modified. The truck in the listing has been fitted with a small block Chevy V8. Specifically, it is a 400ci Chevy small block V8. The engine doesn't create much more horsepower than the previous one but, it will be a lot more reliable considering that the engine isn't from 1965. The engine was connected to a four speed manual transmission that drove the power to the rear wheels. So, while it's no sports car, it's great for a farm or ranch like property where you will need to be hauling stuff around! Those Chevy small block engines get great low end torque! Now, let's talk about the significance of this truck and some other things that make it cool!

The Significance

Right off the bat, we have the fact that this was the first truck in this model line. Now, while it wasn't the very first model year, it was still part of the first generation of C10 Chevy Pickup trucks to be made. Personally, I think that just this alone means that it is pretty cool. However, it also was the first model to have a small block V8, the first model to have air conditioning, and it had a special transmission that was made for the 1965 year. To add to that, this specific one is important because it has been refurbished to a state that is probably better than when it was new! I think that this is one of the coolest truck I have come across by far and to add to that, it is also an American Icon. Along with the early Ford trucks, these were the firsts of the real American Pickup trucks! Now, let's talk about the listing and where to find this beautiful truck!

The Listing

I often find myself scrolling through a website called Bring a Trailer, a automotive auction site that usually features some pretty cool and vintage vehicles that you can bid on! They vehicles that sell for only a few thousand dollars to vehicles that sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. It is definitely a very interesting site and one that I think everyone reading this article should check out! If you would like to look further into this listing, you can find it here: 1965 Chevy C10 Pickup Truck. However, I will say that by the time this article is posted, the auction will most likely be over since the Bring a Trailer auctions usually only last a few days. If you enjoyed this article, consider sharing it with a friend or, if you want updates, consider subscribing to the blog! Thanks for reading, and if you are looking at Bring a Trailer, I hope your bid wins!

Beginnings: The Ferrari 328

Beginnings: This is the beginning of something beautiful. It is the start of a new community for those who love the art and design of the past and all it has to offer. The cars, the art, the music, and all the vintage design that you could ever want. I have always been interested in the past, specifically in the designs. The cars were beautiful and loud, or elegant and smooth. Then there was the music, there was the Rock and Roll, the Blues, the Jazz, and so much more! The art is always a thing of absolute beauty and it can take the imagination to places so stunning and wild that you may never want to return. So, in this community, we will cherish all that is vintage and take a moment to tell the stories of the past. The year 1969 was chosen for an obvious reason. There are years that were better for cars, or better for music, or better for art. However, if asked to chose one such year that brought together a culmination of the best of all of these things, many would quickly offer up t...

The Fiat Panda is the Perfect Off-Road Toy

The Fiat Panda: The Fiat Panda is a small and fearless off-roader that will most likely be able to take you anywhere that you want it to. Not quite as vintage as some of our other articles but I am sure that this 90s creation will impress you and, by the end of this article, I am sure that you too will want one. The Fiat Panda is extremely capable but also an extremely small off-roader. So, lets dig a little deeper and find out why I think that the Fiat Panda is such a cool car! The Fiat Panda was originally conceived in 1980 and was designed by the Italian design firm Italdesign. They had previously designed similar cars that focused on a very utilitarian sense of design and function. The car was supposed to be an easy to use, go anywhere, small sized car that was also supposed to be inexpensive. I am excited to say that not only did the Panda check all those boxes but it also went above and beyond. While the car was originally designed as a car that you could use for all sorts of act...
