- Dear reader, we have a new website! You can find it by clicking here: 1969 Inc. Thank you all for reading! -

In 1976, Al Stewart released his hit album 'Year of the Cat' and now, 45 years later, it is getting a 45th anniversary version! The album made a big enough splash that it is actually getting its own re-release! The namesake song on the album, 'Year of the Cat', was a major commercial and critical success and was the biggest hit of Al Stewart's career!

The new 45th anniversary edition is actually pretty impressive in terms of content. It comes with a 3 CD and 1 DVD box set that includes a new 5.1 Surround Sound mix that has never been heard before. It also includes a live concert at the Paramount theatre that was previously unreleased. So, the box set features quite a bit of remastered content as well as new content that has not been released previous to this new edition.

To add to all that content, the box set also comes with a 68 page book that contains an interview with Al Stewart that is all about the 'Year of the Cat' recording! The book has pictures of the time around when the album was made and pictures from the tour of the 'Year of the Cat' album.

This song was a huge success for Al Stewart as it reached the #5 spot on the Billboard charts in the United States and reached high spots in other countries. To add to this, the song was critically acclaimed and loves by many fans all over the world.

Al Stewart actually has tour dates planned in edition to this anniversary release! If you are interested in the tour dates and possibly going, you can find all the information about the tour and purchase the tickets on Al Stewart's website!

   - Dear reader, I offer this blog completely for free. If you would like to help support the blog, you can subscribe above, follow in the pull out menu, or share this article with your friends! Thank you! - In and around 2000, the Eagles played a number of concerts in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. These concerts were recorded and put together as the Millennium Concert Collection. This collection has been included in a few other releases but has never been offered on its own and was never offered before on vinyl.  The Millennium Concert is being offered as a single vinyl album that consists of 12 tracks, which are shown below. The album features a number of live versions of fan favorites such as 'Hotel California' and 'Peaceful Easy Feeling'.  This album is quite special for a few reasons though the main one being that this was the last time that the Eagles played all together as a united group. This recording features Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schm...

Did Bon Scott write any of Back in Black?

I should probably start this off with a sort of a disclaimer. Firstly, I am not expert on this nor am I affiliated with AC/DC. This is mere speculation and opinion. However, it is quite an interesting topic in the world of AC/DC since there are many fans who often wonder about this. But, for those who are not as familiar with the subject, let's start by setting the scene of the story. In February of 1980, the lead singer of AC/DC Bon Scott passed away. He was one of the core parts of the band and played a large role in the band's songwriting process and performances. Bon Scott was the front man for AC/DC along with Angus Young and had quite a large following. However, he was also a very stereotypical Rockstar as he spent much of his time doing drugs, partying, and living a fast lifestyle. This eventually would be what lead to his death in 1980. He passed away after a long night of drinking when he curled up in the back of his car to sleep. In his sleep he choked on his own vo...

11 Movies All Vintage Cinema Lovers Need to Watch!

Introduction: As a vintage cinema lover myself, I though that I would compile a list of the best movies for old movie lovers to watch! Some of these are personal favorites but I tried my best to stay unbiased and to simply put the best movies. I have seen all of these movies and, no matter which ones you choose to watch, they are all fantastic. I also would like to say that these are in no particular order and instead they are just in a simple list format. So, let's talk about what the best movies to watch are if you are a vintage cinema lover! #1: One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest     One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest tells the story of a criminal who is sent to an asylum to be psychiatrically evaluated to determine whether he is criminally insane, or whether he should be sent back to jail. The movie starts as Randle McMurphy, the main character, is brought into the insane asylum and meets the doctors and nurses. It becomes quickly apparent that Randle is not actually insane and fr...
