Introduction

I have not always been the biggest American muscle car fan. However, over the past few years, they have started to grow on me. However, one that has always seemed to catch my attention is the Pontiac GTO. And, while searching through classic cars for sale, I came across a Pontiac GTO for sale in almost perfect shape! The second I saw it I knew I was going to be sharing it on here! I found this one on classics trader and it seems to be in great shape! So, let's talk about the Pontiac GTO!

The Car

The original Pontiac GTO was made from 1963 to 1974. They eventually did a made a new version of the GTO in 2003, but it was awful and we are not going to talk about that. Instead, I want to talk about the very fist model which, in my opinion, is the best looking version. They started production for the first series of GTOs in 1963. They had that cool and futurist 60s style that has weathered the test of time pretty well. The GTO doesn't just look like some old car but instead has a timeless design that still holds today.

The particular one that caught my eye is a 1965 model. It is still a first series model, before they gave it a facelift, and it is painted in a beautiful greyish silver color. The Pontiac GTO was made as a hardtop and a convertible. The hardtop is nicer for driving faster while the convertible is perfect for cruising down the street on a warm summer night. The model that is currently listed it a convertible and boy does it look good. The older models really had a special design that is probably one of the coolest car designs in American history.

The car has two head lights that protrude on the far sides of the front of the car. They are stacked and encased in chrome. The grill has a design formed from two separate grills on either side leading to a small piece in the center of the car that the Pontiac logo sits on. The car is an old American car so, as you can guess, it is quite long. The car has some simple design lines that run from the front to the rear of the car and lead straight to the futuristic rear tail-lights on the car. They are chrome striped and look like they are from a space age movie or something. Finally, I would also like to point out that the car has a hood scoop that is pretty cool.

The interior of this car is classic American with big dials and a big steering wheel. It has a almost all blue interior that matches the rest of the car pretty well. The seats are big and comfy though, there are no bench seats in the front of the car unfortunately. It has big dial displays for the basics like speed and RPM and then a small radio placed in the middle of the dashboard. Overall, this is one of the best looking cars that I have seen in a while.

The Specs

A lot of people consider the Pontiac GTO to be the first true American muscle car. It had a big engine, a cool design, and was quick for its time. The 1965 GTO had a 6.4 L American V8 that was tuned to create 335 hp. This was one of the only cars that was really making this much horsepower at the time. I mean, this has more horsepower than my car currently has! If you got the Tri-Power engine, then those models had 360 hp! The base model was tested to do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and had a top speed of 114 mph. For a reference point, a 2020 Audi A4 will do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. Even though the Pontiac GTO is 55 years older, it is only 0.6 seconds slower on the 0-60 run, which is insanely impressive and borderline mind-blowing.

The Listing

I found the listing for this car on Autotrader Classics, a sight that I often search for classic cars that may pique my interest. The car is currently on sale and has an asking price of $75,000. Like I said in the beginning of the article, the car is in great shape and has only slight wear and tear from previous owners. If you want to read more into the listing and check out the specs of the car, you can find the listing here: 1965 Pontiac GTO. It is also worth mentioning that not all of the pictures used in this article are of the car in the listing. If you enjoyed this article, it would really help the blog out if you could follow or subscribe! Also, consider sharing this article with your friends and family! Once again, thank you all for reading!

Did Bon Scott write any of Back in Black?

I should probably start this off with a sort of a disclaimer. Firstly, I am not expert on this nor am I affiliated with AC/DC. This is mere speculation and opinion. However, it is quite an interesting topic in the world of AC/DC since there are many fans who often wonder about this. But, for those who are not as familiar with the subject, let's start by setting the scene of the story. In February of 1980, the lead singer of AC/DC Bon Scott passed away. He was one of the core parts of the band and played a large role in the band's songwriting process and performances. Bon Scott was the front man for AC/DC along with Angus Young and had quite a large following. However, he was also a very stereotypical Rockstar as he spent much of his time doing drugs, partying, and living a fast lifestyle. This eventually would be what lead to his death in 1980. He passed away after a long night of drinking when he curled up in the back of his car to sleep. In his sleep he choked on his own vo...
