Eagles by The Eagles: Album Review

Author's Note:

This is a note that was written after this post was written: I apologize that this article is kind of all over the place. I am still learning how to write about music and bands. Thank you for reading and all feedback is accepted! Just let me know what you think in the comments!

The Band:

As far as classic rock albums go, this one is by far the most popular! Eagles is an album by the band The Eagles, which is a little egotistical, and is one of the best rock albums, and best albums, of all time. The Eagles were a rock band in the 1970s and a wildly popular one at that. This album was arguably their best album and defined a whole genre of rock and roll for the next 20 years after its release. In this review I will talk about the band, the album, and then go over some of the music on the album! So, without further ado, let's talk about The Eagles!

The Eagles are a true American rock band. They were formed in Los Angeles in 1971, just a year before the release of their first album. The band was founded by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. They were the original founders and the ones who created the debut album. This is slightly important to note since during their years they had some people come and go from the band. The most notable musician to later join the Eagles is guitarist Joe Walsh who replaced Leadon. The Eagles have always been one of the most popular and famous classic rock bands. With the change in musicians, they were able to stay popular by changing their sound. One good example is the fact that many people know the song 'Hotel California' and the song 'Peaceful Easy Feeling' but don't know that they were made by the same band. However, I will talk more about the Eagles in another article so let's talk about this album!

The Album:

The album was called 'Eagles' and was released in 1972 as the bands debut album. The album had two tracks that became top 20 singles on the billboard charts. These songs were 'Take It Easy' and 'Peaceful Easy Feeling'. So what makes the album so good? Well, the first thing to point out is that the entire album has a very distinct sound to it. I have been listening to rock and roll my whole life and I have never heard an album that sounds quite like this one. The singers voice along with the very distinct guitar sound make the songs on this album some of the most recognizable rock songs to ever be released. To add to that, the country rock sound is very unique, but let me elaborate on that.

The band is not completely country rock, but they do have country rock influence. This is because they started in Los Angeles and spent a lot of time in Arizona. They are not quite the 'Sweet Home Alabama' type of band in terms of country rock. Instead, they are considered a country rock band due to their slight country influence and laid back sound. However, if I had to classify them as a certain genre, I wouldn't mess around with calling them country rock but instead I would argue that they are the definition of classic rock. In my personal opinion, they are right there with Led Zeppelin and The Doors in terms of classic rock.

The Songs:

The album has a total of 10 songs, five on each side of the disc. The songs all have a distinct sound, as I mentioned before, but all are very different in sound and style. Some of them are laid back tunes that are perfect for cruising in the summer time. Songs such as "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and "Take it Easy" are perfect songs for a summer road trip. Then you have the slower ballads that are great for a rainy day. These songs include "Train Leaves Here this Morning" and "Most of Us are Sad". Finally, you have the songs that are best when listened to on a warm summer night while sitting beside a fire. These are songs like "Take the Devil" and "Witchy Woman".

Overall, while the album does have a distinctly Eagles sound, the album is quite diverse. It has a good spread of songs on there that are each good in their own way. These are some of my personal favorite songs and I think that they are some of the best rock and roll songs of all time. This album will certainly go down in history as one of the best and most important rock and roll albums to have ever been made! Thank you! - In and around 2000, the Eagles played a number of concerts in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. These concerts were recorded and put together as the Millennium Concert Collection. This collection has been included in a few other releases but has never been offered on its own and was never offered before on vinyl.  The Millennium Concert is being offered as a single vinyl album that consists of 12 tracks, which are shown below. The album features a number of live versions of fan favorites such as 'Hotel California' and 'Peaceful Easy Feeling'.  This album is quite special for a few reasons though the main one being that this was the last time that the Eagles played all together as a united group. This recording features Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schm...

Beginnings: The Ferrari 328

Beginnings: This is the beginning of something beautiful. It is the start of a new community for those who love the art and design of the past and all it has to offer. The cars, the art, the music, and all the vintage design that you could ever want. I have always been interested in the past, specifically in the designs. The cars were beautiful and loud, or elegant and smooth. Then there was the music, there was the Rock and Roll, the Blues, the Jazz, and so much more! The art is always a thing of absolute beauty and it can take the imagination to places so stunning and wild that you may never want to return. So, in this community, we will cherish all that is vintage and take a moment to tell the stories of the past. The year 1969 was chosen for an obvious reason. There are years that were better for cars, or better for music, or better for art. However, if asked to chose one such year that brought together a culmination of the best of all of these things, many would quickly offer up t...
